Garowe – Senator Abdirahman Mohamed Faroole has criticized the Upper House for becoming entangled in the political disputes between the Federal Government and the Federal Member States, thereby abandoning its primary role as a mediator.<\/p>\n
Speaking during a session of the Upper House yesterday, Senator Faroole stated that the chamber was intended to be the cornerstone of Somalia’s statehood but has lost its way, as some members have improperly taken on additional roles and pursued interests contrary to the constitution.<\/p>\n
Senator Faroole further accused the Upper House of failing to effectively mediate conflicts between the Federal Government and regional states like Puntland and Jubaland. He also noted its failure to urge administrations that have not yet held elections to do so.<\/p>\n
