Kismayo is expected to host a meeting on December 10 organized by the Council for Somalia\u2019s Future, a bloc consisting of Puntland, Jubaland, and the National Salvation Forum. The conference is intended to finalize the council\u2019s internal structure and deliberate on their collective stance regarding the country\u2019s transitional political period, as outlined in their Nairobi communiqu\u00e9 released in October.<\/p>\n
Sahan Post further reports that foreign governments and international political actors continue to operate independently inside Somalia, engaging with both federal and regional authorities in pursuit of their respective interests. The outlet notes that last week a U.S. AFRICOM delegation visited Bosaso and Berbera, where they reportedly held autonomous discussions related to establishing military facilities in those areas.<\/p>\n
