Garowe (Sahan Post):- The Governor of Nugaal Region, Abdirahman Haji Abshir, has commented on clashes that took place on Tuesday night at the central police station in Garowe, resulting in casualties.<\/p>\n
Speaking at a press conference held at the Nugaal Regional Police Command headquarters, Governor Abdirahman stated that forces belonging to the Puntland Daraawiish launched an attack on the Garowe Central Police Station. He confirmed that the incident led to the death of one soldier and injuries to three others, all members of the Daraawiish forces. He emphasized that, despite the confrontation, the overall casualties were limited.<\/p>\n
According to the governor, the unrest began following injuries sustained during an operation aimed at apprehending several Daraawiish soldiers who were suspects in an ongoing investigation. He added that the situation has since returned to calm and that the forces involved in the attack have withdrawn and returned to their respective bases.<\/p>\n
Local authorities have indicated that security in Garowe is now stable, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.<\/p>\n
