Somaliland President Begins High-Level Talks in Ethiopia

HARGEISA, Somaliland – The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Cirro), has commenced an official working visit to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, at the invitation of Ethiopian Prime Minister H.E. Abiy Ahmed.

The high-level visit is centered on strengthening the strategic partnership between Somaliland and Ethiopia. Key agenda items for discussions with top Ethiopian officials include:

· Enhancing bilateral security and economic cooperation.
· Boosting trade and cross-border connectivity.
· Collaborating on regional peace and stability in the Horn of Africa.

President Cirro is leading a substantial delegation, underscoring the importance of the talks. The delegation includes ministers responsible for Foreign Affairs, Finance, Public Works, and Investment, as well as the Commander of the National Army and the Director of the National Intelligence Agency.

This diplomatic mission highlights the Somaliland government’s ongoing efforts to assert its sovereignty and expand its role as a key stakeholder in regional affairs.
