Mogadishu – (Sahan Post) – The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Macallin Mahmoud, held an important meeting with the European Union Ambassador to Somalia, Francesca Di Mauro, to discuss ongoing efforts to improve and rebuild the country’s prison system.
The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between the Ministry of Justice and the European Union in the areas of prison reform, infrastructure development, and the protection of prisoners’ rights.
Minister Mahmoud expressed his gratitude to the European Union for its continued support to the Federal Government of Somalia, particularly in programs aimed at strengthening the country’s justice services and institutional capacity.
