Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud Departs for Official Visit to Algeria

The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, along with a high-level delegation, has just departed from Mogadishu en route to Algiers, the capital of Algeria, for an official visit.

This trip is part of Somalia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its bilateral relations with Algeria, with a particular focus on enhancing cooperation in security, economy, energy, and diplomacy.

The presidential delegation includes key members of the Somali Cabinet, including:

  • The Minister of Defense

  • The Minister of Minerals and Petroleum

  • The Minister of Animal Husbandry

  • The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdisaid Ali Dhere

While in Algiers, President Mohamud is expected to meet with his Algerian counterpart, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, as well as other senior officials. The discussions will focus on furthering the relationship between the two countries and addressing regional and global cooperation issues.
