Mogadishu (Sahan Post) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today received the Letters of Credence from eight newly appointed ambassadors during a formal ceremony held at the Presidential Palace. The envoys represent Egypt (H.E. Mohamed Salah Keshtah), Indonesia (H.E. Witjaksono Adji), Sweden (H.E. Hans Henric Lundvqist), Cuba (H.E. Inés Fors Fernandez), Canada (H.E. Joshua Brenber Tabah), Finland (H.E. Riina Riikka Heikka), Norway (H.E. Siv Cathrine Moe), and Spain (H.E. Jaime Alejandro Moreno Bua).
President Mohamud congratulated the ambassadors on their new diplomatic responsibilities, assuring them of Somalia’s readiness to support their missions. He noted that both the Government and the people of Somalia warmly welcome their presence and look forward to advancing bilateral relations and strengthening cooperation across various sectors.
The ambassadors conveyed greetings and official messages from the leaders of their respective countries and reaffirmed their commitment to prioritizing diplomatic relations with Somalia. They expressed appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality extended to them at Villa Somalia.
The ceremony, marked by high honor and protocol, took place at the Presidential Palace with participation from units of the Somali Armed Forces, who presented a formal guard of honor as the ambassadors submitted their credentials to the President.
