Las´anod, Somalia: — The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has just arrived in the city of Las´anod, the capital of the North Eastern administration, where he received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from local authorities and residents.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre and a high-level delegation he leads also landed in Las´anod. They were received at the airport by the leader of the North Eastern administration, senior federal government officials, and large crowds of civilians who gathered to welcome the visiting leaders.
In addition to the federal leadership, the President of the Galmudug State, H.E. Ahmed Abdi Karie “Qoorqoor,” and his accompanying delegation also arrived in Las´anod earlier today, further underscoring the national significance of the event.
The federal leaders are in Las´anod to attend the official inauguration ceremony of the leader of the North Eastern State, H.E. Abdiqadir Ahmed Aw Ali (Firdhiye), and his Vice President, H.E. Abdirashid Yusuf Jibril Abwaan, which is scheduled to take place tomorrow.
The gathering of Somalia’s top leadership and regional presidents in Las´anod marks a major political moment, highlighting efforts toward national unity, federal cooperation, and state-building as the country continues its path toward stability and reconciliation.
