Jamaame (Sahan Post):— Jubaland authorities say a planned joint security operation has successfully targeted and eliminated several senior Al-Shabaab officials in Lower Juba.
According to officials, Jubaland’s Darawiish Forces, supported by the Somali National Army’s Danab Commandos, carried out intensive operations in and around Jamaame, an area known to host key Al-Shabaab figures.
In the latest operation conducted on the outskirts of the town, security forces killed a senior Al-Shabaab commander identified as Faarax Jibriil, along with seven others. The group had long been accused of terrorizing and exerting pressure on local residents.
Commanders leading the mission confirmed that the operation concluded successfully and forms part of a broader campaign aimed at restoring stability in Jamaame, its surrounding areas, and the wider Jubaland region.
Jubaland security officials added that the operations will continue through Saturday to ensure full security and to dismantle all remaining hiding spots used by the militant group.
