Federal Government Condemns Brutal Assault Case in Puntland

Mogadishu – (Sahan Post) – The Federal Government of Somalia has spoken out regarding a recent sexual assault casethat occurred in Xingalool District, Sanaag region, within the Puntland State.

In a statement released by the Ministry of Family Affairs and Human Rights, the government strongly condemned the horrific assault on an 11-year-old girl that took place on October 30 in Xingalool.

The ministry described the act as inhumane and a grave violation of children’s rights, emphasizing that every child has the right to live in a safe and dignified environment, free from violence and abuse.

The Federal Government commended the Puntland authorities and police forces for their swift response and efforts to apprehend the suspects. The ministry further urged the justice institutions to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice without delay.

Additionally, the Ministry of Family Affairs and Human Rights condemned other recent incidents of violence targeting innocent women and children in Galmudug State, calling for stronger protection measures and accountability for perpetrators across the country.
