Garowe (Sahan Post) – The Governor of Nugaal Region, Abdirahman Haji Abshir, today held a meeting with a delegation led by Abdullahi Deeq Hassan, the Governor of the Dollo Zone of the Somali Regional State (DDS) of Ethiopia, who has been in Garowe, the capital of Puntland, in recent days.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation on border security between Puntland and the Somali Regional State, enhancing overall collaboration, and coordinating support for drought-affected communities who have migrated into the Dollo Zone.
The discussions were attended by the Governor of Mudug Region, Faisal Jifi-Jabsade; the Deputy Governors of Nugaal Region, Mukhtar Farah Jeer; the Commander of the Nugaal Regional Police Division, Mohamed Ali Marduuf; the District Commissioner of Galxamur; senior security officials; and representatives from the Ethiopian Consulate in Garowe.
The meeting comes at a time when nomadic communities are crossing between Somali territories and areas claimed by the Ethiopian government, underscoring the importance of cross-border coordination and security cooperation.
