Garoowe (Sahan Post) – Puntland’s President, Siciid Cabdullaahi Deni, is set to deliver his constitutional address today at the opening of the 57th session of Puntland’s Parliament in Garoowe, the regional capital.
The speech is expected to focus on several key issues, including the administration’s overall policies, achievements, the ongoing fight against ISIS and Al-Shabaab, and future plans for Puntland’s development.
Recently, President Deni had been in Bosaso, overseeing military operations against terrorist groups. He returned to Garoowe yesterday afternoon ahead of the parliamentary opening.
Today’s address is one of the President’s annual constitutional speeches, where he outlines the current state of Puntland, his government’s strategies for the upcoming year, and plans for improving security, the economy, and public services. The speech will also touch on the ongoing political disagreements with President Hassan.
Following the address, the Parliament is expected to engage in discussions and debates on the proposed issues, including the approval of important laws and development plans.
This address comes at a critical time as Puntland faces both security challenges and opportunities for strengthening unity and progress within the region.
