Garoowe, Somalia (Sahan Post) :– Puntland’s Vice President, Ilyaas Cismaan Lugatoor, along with Deputy Minister of Security Axmed Maxamuud Axmed, visited the Puntland Police Force Headquarters on Monday, where they were received by Police Commander Gen. Muumin Cabdi Shire.
During the visit, the vice president held a briefing session with senior police officials, including newly recruited officers. He praised the force for its ongoing efforts and encouraged the new recruits as they prepare for deployment. According to officials, the objective of the meeting was to finalize the operational rollout of the new police units who will be stationed in the districts of Garoowe, Buurtinle, and Dangoroyo in the Nugaal region.
Puntland authorities say the region has recently expanded and strengthened its police force, with new officers graduating and additional units currently undergoing training. The initiative is part of the government’s broader security policy aimed at enhancing capability, improving professionalism, and bolstering law enforcement capacity across the state.
The meeting was also attended by senior officials from the Office of the Presidency.
