Somali President Meets Egyptian Foreign Minister to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Doha (Sahan Post): Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud held a meeting in Doha with Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, on the sidelines of the Doha Forum.

Discussions focused on enhancing the long-standing relationship between Somalia and Egypt, with both sides emphasizing the importance of deepening their strategic partnership.

Egypt reaffirmed its continued support for Somalia—particularly in the areas of security, counter-terrorism efforts, and the strengthening of state institutions. The two leaders also discussed preparations related to the African Union’s AUSSOM mission.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to further expand their cooperation and maintain effective coordination on shared programs and regional priorities.
