Mogadishu (SahanPost):- Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, met with Dr. Annette Weber, the European Union Special Representative for the Horn of Africa, during his official visit to Egypt.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, enhancing security support, and reviewing progress in Somalia’s political, economic, and security sectors. The Prime Minister highlighted achievements made by his government over the past three years, including securing the capital, fighting Al-Shabaab, rebuilding national forces, and improving public services.
He also discussed Somalia’s transition period under the AU Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) and emphasized the need for continued international support.
Dr. Weber praised the Somali government’s tangible progress and reaffirmed the EU’s commitment to further strengthening its support for Somalia.
