Tuurmasaale Incident: Commander Wounded in Clash Between Puntland Forces

‎The Commander of the Afmeer unit, Colonel Sakariye Aadan Cali, and five other soldiers were wounded following an exchange of fire between forces belonging to Puntland’s Darawish troops stationed in the Tuurmasaale area of the Calmiskaad mountains.

‎The clash erupted after a number of soldiers defected during a military reorganization led by the overall commander of Puntland’s defense forces, General Aadan Cabdi Xaashi, who was addressing troops in the area.

‎The forces involved in the exchange include part of the Afmeer unit—soldiers who were recently airlifted to Badhan district in the Sanaag region for training and were subsequently deployed to Tuurmasaale to participate in the Calmiskaad operation.
